ARTEXPRESSION 2024: A night of art, awards and celebration
29 Aug 2024
Contemporary art speaks to our experiences of today.
Lee is interested in the materiality of paper; how it can be manipulated to create an endless array of forms. She cuts, punctures, folds and arranges paper to achieve intricate patterning, structure and shadows.
Lee’s works in A Way with Words use song lyrics, speeches, quotes and names, and the relationship between object, place and memory, to examine women, feminism and the domestic environment.
You are invited to the exhibition opening event with the artist from 7.00 pm on Thursday 12 October.
A Way with Words was commissioned by Hazelhurst Arts Centre as part of Quintet, 10 September – 13 November 2022.
A Way with Words continues 8.30 am – 4.00 pm weekdays until 25 October.
I commend the College for providing a gallery space where students can engage directly with contemporary art and artists.
