Would you like to paint landscapes? Becky Gibson inspired our students with her wonderfully rich colour palettes.

...connecting students with inspiring practitioners...

The annual Artist-in-Residence program connects PLC Sydney Visual Arts students with industry practitioners, each inspirational in sharing their art practice and approaches to depicting the Australian landscape.

The College has welcomed artists such as Jody Graham, Keith Fyfe, Kiata Mason, Nicole Kelly, Mirra Whale, Tim Allen, Peter Gardiner and Becky Gibson, to name a few.

Each year our Artist-in-Residence accompanies our Year 11 Visual Arts students at a National Art School 2-day National Art School workshop before travelling to Arthur Boyd’s Homestead at Bundanon on the Shoalhaven, where the students work outside in the Australian landscape. Each sharing their art practice and approach to depicting the Australian landscape. The residency culminates in a beautiful exhibition called “Landscape Dreaming”, where works (paintings and drawings) inspired by the workshop and Bundanon Homestead visit, by the both the artist and students are displayed at the gallery.

The College also hosts guest artists and designers through exhibitions in the Adelaide Perry Gallery and via masterclasses and workshops for students of Visual Arts and Technological and Applied Studies.
