PLC SYDNEY ALUMNAE SELECTED FOR THE 2026 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES

PLC Sydney proudly congratulates four ex-students who have been selected to represent Australia at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina this February. Competing across moguls, snowboard cross and cross-country skiing, these remarkable alumnae reflect not only individual excellence, but the strength of PLC Sydney’s long-standing commitment to snow sports.

All four Olympians were participants in PLC Sydney’s Snow Sports Program, taking part in Winter School, a unique program founded by PLC Sydney’s Snow Sports Coordinator, Mel Johnston.

For decades, Winter School has enabled students to balance their academic studies with on-snow training and competition at Perisher, providing a clear pathway for students passionate about snowsports. The program combines structured learning with high-level coaching, supporting excellence both in the classroom and on the slopes.

Mel Johnston is a long-time leader and coach at PLC Sydney, having led the Winter School program for over 20 years. As Snow Sports Coordinator and coach, she has mentored generations of young women, shaping a program known for its holistic approach to athlete development, valuing resilience, discipline, academic commitment and personal growth alongside performance.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the sport and to young athletes nationwide, Mel was awarded a 2025 Snow Sports Official Award.
