...Celebrating 20 years of the Perry Prize

Congratulations to Murat Urlali, winner of the $25,000 acquisitive Perry Prize 2025, for his work I Will Have Redemption. The award was presented at the exhibition opening on Friday 28 February at the Adelaide Perry Gallery in Sydney.

Selected by this year’s judge Danie Mellor from more than 400 entries, Urlali’s work stood out among 43 finalists featured in the exhibition.

Congratulations to Becc Ország, winner of the 2025 People’s Choice Award in the Perry Prize for her work Laboured Breath/Respite.

A Melbourne-based artist, Ország’s practice spans drawing, sculpture and sound, exploring sacred space, memory and the psychological phenomenon of paramnesia (déjà vu). Her meticulously detailed works evoke the powerful sense of Sehnsucht — a longing for an ideal or unattainable world.
